Please note that the Government of Canada will end the Apprenticeship Incentive Grant (AIG) and the Apprenticeship Completion Grant (ACG) on March 31, 2025. No application will be accepted after this date.
Example 1: An apprentice demonstrated completion on 15 September 2023. Their application deadline is 15 September 2024. If the application received before the deadline is deemed incomplete, the apprentice has until 15 September 2025, to provide missing information or documents to complete their application.
Example 2: An apprentice demonstrated completion on 12 January 2025. Their application deadline is 31 March 2025. If the application received before the deadline is deemed incomplete, the apprentice has until 31 March 2026, to provide missing information or documents to complete their application.
The Government of Canada continues to provide other types of financial supports for apprentices, including loans, funding programs, tax deductions, and employment insurance while apprentices take their technical training. Please visit the Government of Canada’s website for more information.

Apprenticeship Incentive Grant
The Apprenticeship Incentive Grant (AIG) is a taxable cash grant worth $1,000 per level up to a maximum of $2,000 for the first two years of your training in a Red Seal program.
Apprentices registered in a Red Seal program, who have successfully met the technical training and work-based training requirements for each grant. Please see the AIG requirements document for your trade.
Apprentices must complete technical training to be eligible, as per Service Canada. Level challengers are ineligible for this grant.

Apprenticeship Completion Grant
The Apprenticeship Completion Grant (ACG) is a taxable grant of $2,000 for registered apprentices who have successfully completed their apprenticeship training program and have received their journeyperson certification in a Red Seal trade.
